Terms of use
The rules for buying and selling here, and what we do when somebody breaks them.

What this site is
Chitemere Wireless is a marketplace. Most phones listed here belong to the people selling them, not to us, and the contract of sale is between the buyer and that seller.
We provide the listing, the messaging, and where used, the payment. We do not take ownership of a handset in between.
Your account
One account per person, with real details. You are responsible for what happens under it, so keep the password to yourself.
You need to be old enough to enter a contract in Zimbabwe to sell here.
Listing a phone
Everything in a listing has to be true: the model, the storage, the battery health, the network lock and the condition. Battery health is not optional here because it is the number that decides whether a used phone is worth its price.
Only list a phone that is yours to sell and that is not reported lost, stolen or blocked. Listing a stolen handset gets the account removed and the details passed on.
Photographs should be of the actual phone wherever possible. A stock render of the model is acceptable for a new sealed unit and misleading for a used one.
Featured listings
Featuring is a paid placement at the top of the homepage for a fixed number of days. It buys position and nothing else: it is not a recommendation, an endorsement, or any statement by us about the phone or the seller.
Featuring is not refundable once the window has started, because the placement has been delivered. If a listing is removed for breaking these terms, the remaining days are forfeited.
Getting paid, and what we keep
When a buyer pays for your listing through the site, we keep 5% of the sale and the rest goes to your wallet. That is the whole fee. There is no listing charge, no monthly charge, and nothing further is taken when you withdraw.
Money from a sale is held for 3 days before you can withdraw it, so there is something to refund from if the handset turns out not to match the listing. If the buyer marks the order as received before then, it clears immediately.
Withdrawals go to the EcoCash number on your account, and the smallest one is $5. We check that number against EcoCash and show you the name on it before anything is sent. If a transfer fails, the money goes back to your wallet and you keep it.
A sale that is refunded is taken back out of your wallet. If you have already withdrawn it, your balance can go negative, and the next sales you make clear that before they clear to you.
Keeping deals on the site
Phone numbers and messaging links are blocked in chat deliberately. A conversation held here is a record both sides can point at, and a deal moved to WhatsApp is one nobody can help you with afterwards.
This is the single most common way people are cheated on marketplaces, which is why it is a rule rather than a suggestion.
What gets an account suspended
Listing something you do not own, misdescribing a handset, taking payment and not delivering, abusing another user, or repeatedly pushing people off the platform to complete a sale.
We can remove a listing or suspend an account without notice where we think somebody is at risk of being defrauded.
What we are not responsible for
We do not inspect handsets before they are listed, so we cannot guarantee that a description is accurate. What we can do is hold a payment while a dispute is looked at, and act on the account behind it.
Where a sale is completed in person and paid for in cash, we are not party to it at all.
